Invest in an Iowa Adventure

There are opportunities for outdoor activities abound at Iowa's state parks. Many tourists are surprised by the array of options they have with outdoor recreation and enjoy visiting one or more of the six state parks in Iowa. Those six recreational areas include: Badger Creek (Madison County), Brushy Creek (Webster County), Pleasant Creek (Linn County), Volga River (Fayette County), Wilson Island (Pottawattamie County) and Mines of Spain (Dubuque County). These recreational areas are open for hunting (with limited hunting in the Mines of Spain) and are open to the public 24 hours a day.

Of all the state parks, Backbone State Park is probably the most well-known. It was Iowa's first state park. With camping, bike trails, hiking trails and a lake for many boating activities, Backbone State Park is the perfect place for a family outing. The other five state parks are also great places to visit for excellent outdoor adventures.
